About the Association

Our History

The first meeting was held in New Orleans on November 28, 1952, with eleven agency owners present. A Code of Ethics, By-Laws and a Constitution were adopted and the election of officers was held. Our very first name was Associated Private Employment Services of Louisiana. While we have existed 50+ years as an association, our name has changed through the years to meet the needs of the individuals and employer-clients it has served and in a manner in which they desired.

Our members have represented employer-client firms in confidential searches for qualified candidates. We have placed talented individuals in thousands of positions within Louisiana and with nationally based employer clients. Our placements with these firms have favorably impacted the candidates, their families, and the Louisiana economy representing millions of dollars in compensation for over 50 years. While in existence for many years, LSA has changed over the years to meet the needs of the individuals and clients it has served and in a manner in which they desired.

Are you an Agency Owner/Staffing Professional?

Consider Membership in LSA:

Progressive staffing firms understand the need for a strong trade association to represent us to industries, to the public, and to issues of employment law and/or governmental regulations. Membership in LSA signifies a willingness to be part of the solution when staffing issues arise in the business marketplace and issues of employment law and/or governmental regulations. LSA is proud of our par excellence team roster of members who represent the talented professional staffer.

Our Mission:

  • Convey necessary and informative dialogue to all users and interested parties of the industry. Provide continuing education opportunities to increase staffing knowledge and professionalism.

  • Monitor proposed state and local legislation to support/oppose legislation for our industry.

  • Support effective internal member communications and external dialogue with industry supporters.

  • Encourage cooperation with other organizations to advance the Association.

  • Promote the industry to our clients, governments, and our members in an ethical and professional manner while offering outstanding service to all of our publics.

Benefits of Membership:

LSA is the only statewide trade association representing staffing agencies. Increase your influence to achieve a powerful impact on business, industry, professions, service organizations, to the public and governmental entities by becoming a member.

When your firm becomes a member of LSA, all of your employees are also members of LSA. Clearly, a group denotes more power than one voice.
